Coming home from the Royal Highland Show , Marafia Bronked all the way. Total nightmare. We had tried to get her to travel in the trailer again but with no joy ,she kicked off at the first turn of the wheels. This has grounded us for the whole show season So this evening we took out the middle partition and fitted a long breach bar and give it a go. We put in a wireless camera too just to watch. Mara was able to position herself at an angle her front half to the right and back half to the left. She went for a short run and she was OK. We will give it another go this weekend , but hopefully this has cracked it. We do pander to her ( a lot ), but If i was a horse you wouldn't get me in a trailer, so I understand. Good result tonight fingers crossed. Stuart and Gilly

Fantastic I know a few horses who prefer to travel this way.

That sounds positive! I think its easier for them to balance if they're not facing fully forwards. Fingers crossed you've cracked it

Good news for you to hopefully be mobile again. We used to go out for a short trip every weekend - paid dividends and made us all feel confident - traveller and driver !!!

Glad you have her sorted, my old mare had to travel cross tied with breast bar and no partition and if in lorry, lots of room. It is apparently quite a common thing, especially with mares Wishing you miles and miles of happy travelling L.xx

I had a pony that hated travelling with the partition if she was travelling alone. We tried her in a horse box and she went crazy, we ended up having to get an emergency vet to sedate her to get her home from a show. So we went back to the trailer without partition and she travelled like an angel. She also didn't like going out backwards (this was in the days before front unload) but thankfully she was short enough to turn around in the trailer and walk out.

we had to do the same with fred, he kicked the side out of my trailer but took out the partition and he was ok, not as happy as he is in the lorry but it did the trick
