Hi, How is everyone coping with this weather ? After having 3ft of snow to contend with today I have over a foot of slush to walk through Horses getting out for a couple of hours every day, but they are so bored as they cant get any grass so just mooch around the gates. And think I will have forgotten how to ride by the time this goes, and with more snow forecast the week before xmas and January to be much of the same its a holiday for the horses and no chocolate for me to stop me piling on the weight............

Ours is melting too. We haven't been too bad - only about 1 foot of the white stuff. The horses have been digging through it to get to the grass. Zak has been off work for the last 5 weeks but I rode him yesterday in the outdoor school - we love playing in the snow

Snow has cleared now but there is a lot of mess to clear up! Just great to see the horses eating grass and looking content. Couldn't ride with the snow. Ran out of bedding, was snowed in and feed disappearing rapidly. Husband was stranded at brother's flat in Edinburgh with my landcruiser!!! Oil heating went on the blink and frozen pipes. Thank goodness he is back and things are getting back to normal. Will be more prepared for next week!

Eugh, the slush!! I hate the thaw, its very depressing. But at least i can drive safely on the roads, which have been a nightmare for the last fortnight We had about 2' of snow, which is now 2' of mud & standing water At least things dont take as long now we're not trudging through snow drifts, and we dont have to worry about everything freezing over, though we were lucky & only without water for a day or two before we got the tap thawed at the yard. I suspect this is the calm before the next storm though...

Aaargh! The snow is back again! Pants. At least everything is white and clean instead of brown and wet. Snow is better than mud but causes so many problems!
