Today I sat on a horse for the first time since I lost Gaby in November. It was a moment full on anticipation and a wee bit of anxiety. However, as emotional as it was, I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Hopefully now I can take up all the offers of rides I've been given.
A huge thanks to mamadarcy for letting me have a shot on her boy.

Fi, you are more than welcome, you know where he is!!! and he would enjoy going for a jaunt anytime. He might be a bit of a stiffy, but he has a nice nature. So glad you got back on!
You were very brave, and no tears!! Gaby would have been looking down at you saying GO MUMMY!! XXX

Fee - totally appreciate where you are coming from. After losing Taffeta in 2006 it was a daunting prospect to get on board again - having developed such a partnership with your horse and knowing their quirks inside out something else just does not measure up somehow. I hope you find another special horse to fill the void which Gaby has left - I have been so lucky to find not only another lovely mare but also another TAFFETTA !!! Look forward to catching up with you sometime this year. I know you are busy but we would be delighted if you would consider coming back to committee - if not as a full time member as one of our special activities people ? Think about it - we'd love to see you back.
