Has anyone ever used or heard of anyone else using a Barnsby Magnetic Headpiece? I used my friends today on Kaz and the change in her whole way of going was so chilled and calm it was like riding a different horse. Tried her with it in the school and there was no spooking, jogging or bucking and then took her out of the yard which she doesn't do on her own normally without a fight. No fight at all and she strode out like this was perfectly normal behaviour. My friend had an even more extreme result with her very fizzy, stressy thoroughbred. Wondered if anyone else had any experience with them before I part with £55 for one.

sounds like a great product if thats the results from a fizzy highly strung horse. I have seen these a few times and wondered about buying one but as you say they are pretty expensive just to try

The magnet in the headpiece is thought to help the horse relax through it's poll and relieve tension. I've bought one now and it seems to work for Kaz, she is a lot less spooky and is more relaxed. My friend has had an even more extreme change in her thoroughbred, he's like a different horse. I suppose it would depend on each horse and their temperament if it worked or not

Sounds a wonderful thing for those with high spirited types. It's a lot of money I guess, but then calmers are equally expensive and very hit and miss as to wither or not they work! Good luck with it and keep us informed about your progress...............I may need one for Merlyn when I get him broken this year as he is SUPER spooky!

I got mine from TDS Saddlery over the internet as it was £55 I think they are about £80 if you buy direct from Barnsby. Not sure if they are dressage legal or not but I'm sure you could find out on the internet.
