I'm just wondering how this works, in terms of who put the details into the site? Having had a discussion recently about this site. A friend has one horse on the site that she never put on nor did the breeder and the society definitely didn't (its a native) her other horse is not on there and one that was PTS a long time ago is on there even though the society it is registered with was informed and it was PTS before the site was started which is now why we are wondering who puts the details on?? Ice is on with all details correct so thats fine, but does the AHS put there details through???

Yeh I'm a bit confused by this one too. My Angelo is on there and only appeared last year or there abouts!

I'm confused too. Kaz is on there with her pedigree that goes back generations but I have no idea who put it on as it wasn't her previous owner who had had her since she was a foal

Anyone can list a horse on All Breeds. There has been hassles in the past with correct details being changed and messed with. Occasionally it still happens. There would appear to be some who think it's fun to muck about with the pedigrees.

I find it a bit worring that ANYONE can put in details of any horse, surely it should just be breeders or the society that registers them that should be able to put such information into the site.

To be honest, i think its's great you can go online and find out the breeding of most horses on there. I found it really useful when was looking for a youngster Both mines are on it and as long as the info is accurate, i dont see a problem L.x

I think it's a great way of finding out about your horses relatives, assuming of course as Lucytoo says the information is correct. I don't know if the owners of the site even police it in any way to make sure the information is correct.
The new NED site is another place to go for information, but this is carefully monitored by the NED and to my knowledge only the breed societies can supply or verify the breed information as being correct and true. You can't just add a pedigree to that site yourself, which will stop some of the inconsistancies that All Breeds experiences.

Totally agree that the site is great, its been interesting looking through Ices history and even better to see photos of his ancestory. I dont mind that he is there and his information is correct. Just still confused as to how he or my friends horses have got there?.

Perhaps some one who know his dam and sire well and knew of his existance added him? I think sometimes you get people who are really into various bloodlines and have the Stud books, will sit and add horses in.
