After lots of OTT energy from Merlyn and a serious lack of concentration, we finally have turned the corner and I have a very sane youngster who accepts absolutely everything. I sat on him for the first time tonight and we had a wander round the arena. ;D He was unphased by it all, which is wonderful, as he is a very spooky type!
I was over the moon with him, as a few weeks ago I seriously considered sending him away to be backed!! I'll try and get some photos tomorrow night, or at any rate get my OH to get some!

Lovely photos. He looks so relaxed. It's a great feeling when all your hard work starts to pay off.

Yep, really chuffed for you Jayne! After doing all the ground work and all the other preparation involved, you deserve to be the person who backs him! ;D

Thanks so much guys. He is my pride and joy and I love him dearly. He is never going to be a HOYS contender, but he is going to be a lot of fun and he really does try hard for me.
When I rode him tonight, he was chilled to the point of not wanting to move himself!! He got the hang of it eventually, but really couldn't be bothered!! So much for my flighty fire breathing dragon!

That's great news - he looks asleep in the first photo! That's what you want at the start - nice and relaxed. Hope you have lots of fun with him.
