I keep on hoping that it is an abscess, but nothing showed on x ray, and both my farrier and the vets have been digging to find it and nothing. It may still pop out at the top............at least an abscess is fixable.

Sorry to read this, poor tammuz sending hugs.
Must say Clyde vets are normally very good, hope it is just an abscess that will pop out the top and relieve his pain.

Took off his bandages today, with the plan to go back to poulticing again!!!! However Tammuz had other ideas and now wont lift his foot up for me, no matter what........Will get my farrier to pop in and give me a hand , and also check yet again for any signs of an abscess. He got his massage last night and really enjoyed it, nothing abnormal in any of the muscles or soft tissue to note. I am now getting very frustrated as to what is making him so lame, if only they could talk!!!!

My poor boy has got worse today He is not moving much at all now and spending a lot of time lying down. I have upped the bute, and have borrowed a magnetic/pulsing massage rug that he gets on twice a day. He is still eating and drinking well, but is starting to get low he is certainly not his normal cheeky self. I am keeping in contact with the vet, but not a lot we can do apart from wait and see how he is over the next few days. Thanks to everyone for all your kind words and thoughts for my boy.

Oh heck Susan, what a nightmare for you!!! The fact the lameness is getting worse, is classic symptoms of being an abscess!! Have you tried hot tubbing the hoof in epsom salts to try and bring it to a head sooner? Really hope it resolves itself soon! Keep us posted please! Jx

Vet out this morning and Tammuz has stress laminitis this is secondary to the initial lameness. He is not a well boy at all, the vet and I are very worried now. We nerve blocked both front feet but no improvement, he is on a very high dose of bute and ACP to see if we can make him more comfortable.
Sick with worry and praying for a miracle to happen and make my beautiful boy better.
